The 7 Best First Date Locations in Kansas!

Great relationships can be made by the strength of a first date. And while picking the perfect atmosphere can be a lot of pressure, we’re here to help you out. From beautiful hikes to museums to carriage rides, here are the best first date locations in Kansas.

Visit Historic Massachusetts Street

One could easily get lost walking down busy Massachusetts Street. The tourist attraction in Lawrence, Kansas, is overflowing with restaurants, coffee shops, and more. A huge chunk of it is listed on the National Registry of Historical Places and boasts buildings originally erected in the 19th century. Consider the cultural interchange between modern day capitalism and history, or simply enjoy a great cup of coffee. Your date’s choice.

Go over the rainbow to the Oz Museum

Few Kansas cultural touchstones have had as wide-ranging and long-lasting an impact as Frank L. Baum’s “Wizard of Oz.” If you or your date is a fan, then you might consider spending the day exploring the museum dedicated to the land of Oz. They have over 2,000 Oz-related artifacts and exhibits.

Catch a race at Kansas Speedway

Watch live NASCAR races at Kansas City’s very own Kansas Speedway. Whether your date has never been to a race or is a life-long fan, taking him or her to see one is sure to impress. Just make sure you have plenty of time to get to know one another, as it can get quite loud.

Consider a romantic carriage ride at Rocking B Carriage

Several Kansas towns offer carriage rides through scenic areas and historic districts. Start your date out with a relaxing ride before getting dropped off for diner and drinks at a nearby restaurant. Two cities with carriage rides to consider are Abilene and Salina.

Enjoy a wine tasting Somerset Ridge

A nice, safe wine tasting might be a better bet than pheasant hunting, depending on the personalities involved. Luckily, Kansas has a ton of excellent vineyards and wineries throughout the state that are open for tastings. If you’re in the area Somerset Ridge is an excellent option.
