Carey Skate Park

South End of Main street

The newest addition to Carey Park, the skateboard park is a great place for everyone on skateboards, bmx bikes and roller blades to test their skills.  This park is open from 5am to midnight with lots of seating for spectators.  This facility is lighted and fenced to allow skaters to enjoy the park until midnight. This park has lots of amenities - drinking fountain and a restroom close by.  The skate park is a hub of activity and sometimes you can enjoy local bands playing at the park. This facility is not supervised, so skating is at your own risk, safety gear is strongly recommended to provide suitable protection in the event of falls or collisions.

Great park! Has areas for walking, picnic shelter, swimming pool for all ages (there is a fee to swim). Nice play equipment (several different areas of park) and views are nice. Often small wildlife such as squirrels, ducks & rabbits can be seen. The zoo is also within the park area (fee required) , a small train goes through the zoo ( tickets need to be purchased). Golf tournaments (well known) are held periodically in the golf area of park.

My grandchildren and myself hauled our bikes from Arlington to ride the bide trail between Carey Park and Rice Park. It was great and we really enjoyed the ride.

I love the park, it's pretty but I don't feel safe walking the trails or visiting by myself. Lots of drug deals, suspcicous behavior and someone was stabbed there a few months ago. Which they had a park ranger or some sort of security presence.
