Smoke on the Plains Derby BBQ and Music Fest

Join us for the 12th Annual BBQ & Music Fest on June 9 & 10, 2023 at High Park.

Come for the BBQ and stay for the music and fun!

You are invited to scenic High Park for a weekend of fun, food and music!

The park will be full of activity on June 9 and 10, 2023 as we hold the 12th Annual Smoke on the Plains BBQ & Music Festival.

There will be fun for all ages, from live music on the Security 1st Title Mainstage to the Smile Safari/Derby Orthodontics Kids Corner.

Enjoy refreshing beverages from the Derby Noon Lions Club Beer & Beverage Tent and Shaken or Stirred Bartending all weekend.

The BBQ competitions include the KCBS Cook-off, the Scholfield Honda Backyard BBQ Cook-off, and the SCA Steak Cook-off. Enter by June 8.

Security 1st Title Mainstage

Friday June 9, 2023

Opener: Taylor Fugitt 6 to 7 p.m.

Kyle Killgore Band 7-10 PM

Kyle Killgore is one of the fastest-growing music acts in the Texas/Red Dirt country music scene.

Since 2018 the band has played over 500 shows all over the Midwest. Based out of Wichita, Kansas.

The KCBS BBQ Competition

Four meats will be judged in this contest: Chicken, Ribs, Pork and Brisket.

KCBS 2023 Official Rules and Regulations & Judging Procedures will be used.

Teams must compete in all four meat categories to qualify for Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion.

The People’s Choice Tasting Contest will be held Friday night, June 9. Pulled pork may be prepared prior to arrival (three pork butts per team).

Three pork butts will be given to participating teams to replace those prepared. Teams will receive a discount on entry fee for participating.

Payout for People’s Choice pays 1st to 5th place: $500, $450, $400, $275, $175.

The Scholfield Honda Backyard BBQ Competition

Two meat categories will be judged: Chicken and Pork Ribs. You must compete in both categories to qualify for prizes.
