Spencer Museum Of Art
1301 Mississippi Street

Spencer Museum of Art , Center for East Asian Studies Co-hosted with the Center for East Asian Studies, our annual Kite Festival provides an opportunity for families to learn about the physics of kites and the art and culture of East Asia. This year, we also celebrate Children's Day, a national holiday in Japan and South Korea. Learn about how kites are made and decorate your own, enjoy a selection of kite-related art, learn about the wind and make a paper airplane, or create a kabuto (Japanese helmet). In case of inclement weather, the Festival will take place in the first floor of the Kansas Union.
