Student Council would like to announce Alana Whitney as our 2024 beneficiary for the Gary Engels Memorial (GEM) 5K . Gary Engels was an English teacher at Campus High School who left a legacy at Campus and in the Haysville Community. In his honor a new beneficiary is chosen each year.

Alana is a Spanish teacher at Haysville West Middle School (HWMS) and also a basketball coach. Alana was chosen as this year's beneficiary because she has been battling ovarian cancer for several years. She has to make numerous trips to Houston for treatments. Students say she is funny and always keeps a positive attitude even when going through her treatments. Her colleagues at HWMS say she has the most grit out of anyone they know.

Please help support Alana by joining our race this year on April 20th. Registration starts at 9am and the race will begin at 9:30am. If you can't make it but would like to donate you can do that here on Run Sign Up as well.

The race will begin and end on the North side of Riggs Park at the Timberlane Shelter in Haysville, KS and follow the bike/walking path.

*A t-shirt is not guaranteed if signing up after April 5th*

This race is not officially timed.
