Kansas Wheat Festival

Kansas Wheat Festival
208 North Washington, Upper Level

The Kansas Wheat Festival has been a Kansas tradition since the year 1900 when Sumner County came together to celebrate a bumper wheat harvest that earned Wellington the title of "Wheat Capital of the World". Designated the State's Official Kansas Wheat Festival in 2012, the tradition carries on as we enter the 123rd year celebrating agriculture and community spirit in Wellington, Kansas.

Join us in the second week of July for a carnival, food trucks, contests, baseball, a cowboy action shootout contest, baseball, beer garden, the Kansas Wheat Festival parade, and nightly free outdoor concerts.

Saturday pulls out all the stops with action all day! Start with the Run for the Paws at the Wellington Humane Society and then head to Sellers Park for the Antique Rod & Custom Car Show and Agricultural Fair. Beat the heat at the Art & Craft Show in the air-conditioned Memorial Auditorium and then grab a bite at the food truck court while watching the cornhole tournament from the shade of the beer garden. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy watching a full evening of free music on the Grand Stage while the kids have a blast at the carnival around the corner.
